Hugh Borbidge, BSME earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Villanova University. Since joining DJS Associates, Inc. in 2007, Hugh has led the development of precise, courtroom-accepted 3D demonstrative exhibits for accident reconstruction, medical malpractice, product liability, biomechanics, and more.
With over 15 years of expertise, Hugh combines his mechanical engineering background with advanced 3D visualization skills to construct physically accurate animations and models for cases involving vehicular collisions, aviation accidents, biomechanical injuries, mechanical failures, and criminal investigations. His work often involves creating to-scale 2D and 3D exhibits that clarify complex scenarios and highlight critical details for legal and forensic purposes.
Hugh is proficient in cutting-edge tools and applications such as 3D Studio Max, PF Track, ReCap, and PC Crash. He also employs innovative data collection and analysis techniques, including high-definition surveying and photo/video forensic analysis, to enhance his reconstructions.
Hugh has lectured to forensic engineering associations, insurance groups, and legal organizations on topics like engineering computer animations and high-definition surveying. He has collaborated with professionals across diverse disciplines, expanding his portfolio of reconstruction scenarios.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Hugh is an active volunteer with the New Hope Eagle Fire Company and a dedicated motorcyclist who enjoys hitting the open road whenever the sun is shining.
