Scott has been with DJS Associates, Inc. since 1999 and is an accomplished forensic engineer specializing in automotive and commercial trucking investigations. His rare blend of professional vehicle repair and mechanical engineering experience provides clients an effective and efficient means of identifying and diagnosing root-cause factors in automotive forensic investigations. Event data recording technologies, vehicle steering and braking control systems, wheel detachment events, and vehicle repair industry best-practices are just of few of the technical areas he consults in regularly.
Scott graduated from Drexel University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Taking exclusively evening classes while working full-time as a professional automotive repair technician, his educational focus was in Dynamic Systems and Control Theory and Application. Upon graduation, Scott accepted a position at the Boeing Company as a member of the Mechanical Flight Controls design team supporting the CH-47 Chinook Tandem-rotor program. Scott continues his professional development through on-going research and training, and now leads the Automotive Division as a principal engineer at DJS. Spanning nearly 40 years in the vehicle repair and forensic engineering industries, Scott applies his extensive experience in civil and criminal matters, as well as complex class-action litigation.
Scott has presented CE- and CLE-accredited seminars to numerous associations across the United States on topics related to his areas of expertise, including the latest in automotive and truck Event Data Recorder (EDR) technology and GPS Forensics.
Most importantly, Scott is the father of three wonderful kids who enjoys writing, deep-sea fishing, church and community volunteering, and not paying professionals to perform home improvement and repair projects he is convinced he can do himself!
