PACDL 2026 DUI & Motor Vehicle Law Summit

Justin P. Schorr, Ph.D., President of DJS Associates, Inc., will speak at the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ 2026 DUI and Motor Vehicle Law Summit at The Hotel Hershey on Friday, February 20th.  His topic is titled, “Your Client’s Car Is Talking: Technology, Data, and DUI Defense.”

Black boxes, cell phones, license plate readers, and cameras are constantly collecting data, and that data is increasingly used against criminal defendants in DUI and motor vehicle cases.  Digital evidence can be as powerful as it is misunderstood and often carries an aura of infallibility.  This session explores some of these technologies, how these systems collect and interpret data, where inaccuracies and assumptions arise, and practical strategies to identify potential flaws, involve experts, and prevent overstated conclusions from reaching the factfinder.
