Complimentary CLE: What Can Dead People Tell Us? Postmortem Toxicology for Attorneys

Autopsy reports and postmortem findings can provide important information about what happened to a person prior to death.  However, interpreting those findings is not always straightforward.

Peer into postmortem toxicology and join DJS Associates, Inc. for a complimentary CLE webinar from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm EDT on October 29, 2026:

“What Can Dead People Tell Us? Postmortem Toxicology for Attorneys”

Allison A. Muller, PharmD, DABAT, FAACT, AFACMT, Toxicology Expert with DJS will introduce attendees to the fundamentals of postmortem toxicology, establishing what toxicology results can and cannot verify when evaluating causation, impairment, and other issues involving drugs.

During this one-hour program, Dr. Muller will discuss real-world case examples and answer questions haunting the minds of attorneys and investigators alike:

  • Was fatality caused by a drug overdose or prescription medication?
  • Was an individual impaired prior to a fatal accident?
  • Did the use of an illicit substance contribute to the death?
  • How might drug levels be related (or unrelated) to the cause of death?
  • Why test eyeball fluid?
  • What additional information does a toxicologist need to answer questions about your case?
