Complimentary CLE: Household Product Investigations

Incidents involving consumer products often present complex technical and legal questions that require methodical forensic investigation. When seemingly ordinary household products become central to significant property damage or personal injury claims, detailed mechanical inspections can reveal the reason for the failure and contributing factors.
On July 14th, 2026, from 12 to 1 pm EDT, DJS’ Principal Mechanical Engineer, John R. Yannaccone, P.E., will deliver a complimentary CLE webinar titled “Household Product Investigations.”
This session offers legal and insurance professionals an inside look at product liability matters from the forensic engineering perspective. Mr. Yannaccone will illustrate common failure mechanisms with real-world case examples involving clothing steamers, exercise equipment, furniture, kitchen appliances, and more. Attendees will learn about exemplar testing, investigative best practices, alternative causation theories, and assigning liability to contributing parties. In addition, Mr. Yannaccone will draw from 30 years of experience to share strategies for effective collaboration between counsel, insurers, and technical experts.
